Pink Spoon Marketing

Just this past week, for the first time, I heard the term, "Pink Spoon Marketing". My ears perked up immediately and my curiosity moved right on out of 1st gear and into 5th. Of course, as with most females, anything "pink" catches my attention.

Have you ever walked into an ice cream shop and asked to sample one of the flavors? If so, chances are pretty darned good that you were served a tiny sample (more like microscopic) of your chosen flavor on a teeny weeny pink spoon. Great! ... not NEARLY enough to fill you up. That's the precise reason you're not offered a whole scoop to sample. A whole scoop might fill you up. You probably wouldn't make a purchase if your tummy is full, right?

Well, that's the whole concept of "pink spoon marketing" ... just give a little taste, a tease, and keep 'em coming back for more. If they like what they sample, they just may order a triple scoop!

Social Networking is the perfect place to use a pink spoon marketing strategy to your utmost benefit as an online marketer. As you find others online that you'd like to befriend, adopt the habit of "dripping" in bits and pieces about you and what you have to offer. Do not slam 'n' jam and spam! In the first couple of conversations in your dialogue, do not include a link to your business website, a url to your doorway page, or anything related to business. Give people the chance to know, like, and trust you first. Take the time necessary to genuinely build the relationship. Continue to give them tiny samples on a pink spoon as the relationship grows. At some point, they will have a sincere interest in hearing all about your network marketing business. Then, and only then, will they want to order a triple scoop!

Rainbow sherbet, anyone?

Hi Melanie!

Thanks for the good advice. When people join a new social site, they are bombarded by people shouting the best deals on the planet. Overwhelming, and not a party you'd return to.

We remember from a marketing course that the internet is like a noisy city thoroughfare, and the best way to get someone's attention is to quietly speak their name.

Thanks again for making sense!
